The Camp is Gone !

June 1st was a sad day. The camp was demolished; however, we will always remember the great times that we have had over the years with family and friends. By the end of the day all that remained was a huge hole in the ground. The contractor started on the concrete forms for the new camp on the following day and the footings were poured by 5:00 PM on Wednesday.

We are staying in the new shed and the power and water have not been connected as yet. It is a bit primitive but we are surviving.

The demolition is finished.

Excavating for the new building.

Almost finished.

The excavator slipped off its track. It is the mother of all tire changes to get one of these things back on. One perk is that this brute has its own built in jack.

Our local 'Buiding Inspectors' dropped by to get an update on progress.

Building forms for the footing.

Pouring concrete.

Placing rebar.

Almost finished.

A panoramic view of the finished footings.

Jody Ross, the excavator operator, lives just around the cove from us.
