Niko had a great Christmas and really enjoyed getting all the new toys out of his stocking.

I can't wait until next Christmas. My favorites are the squeaky toys!

Jon's present for Stephen

Jon got Stephen a remote control helicopter for Christmas. Here are a few pictures of his initial practice runs. The first helicopter had a defect and had to be returned for a replacement. Jon is becoming very good at flying it. He will be giving Stephen his lessons this weekend.

Christmas Day and New Years Eve 2006

Bob was diagnosed with a type of bone cancer in his pelvis called chondro sarcoma early in December and underwent major surgery to remove the effected area. This required a hip replacement and a major rebuild of the right pelvic bone. The operation was preformed on December 14th. The first week was difficult but he has gained back more strength and started feeling better after the second week. The worst time was the two and a half weeks spent in the ‘springs and things’. Both Christmas and New Years were spent in the hospital. We opened some of our presents on Xmas day leaving the bulk for when Jonathan and Jessie returned home from out west. Both Andrew and Jonathan phoned on Xmas Day. News Years eve saw the Fosters arrive with Lobsters!!! That will be a party we will never forget. Bob’s only complaint was that the nursing station refused to phone the bootlegger for him. Bob returned home on January 5th and is doing very well. He is slowly getting more strength back and feeling great. The bone has to heal for another month or so and then he will be in an extensive physiotherapy program for several months.
